In addition, students will have the opportunity to take part in a workshop dedicated to Madeira’s endemic and native plants!

20h-22h – Changes to the municipality’s lighting and Peddy-paper “For a night with more life @Ponta da Oliveira”
From March onwards, the municipality of Santa Cruz will undergo changes in public lighting, especially in the coastal area of Caniço. These changes are intended to save energy and protect the health of ecosystems by mitigating light pollution. The Ponta da Oliveira and Garajau areas will be equipped with intelligent lighting, allowing remote management, with control of light intensity and colour temperature. At this event, you’ll be able to see this management first hand.
Join us to get to know the insects, bats and birds that inhabit the municipality of Santa Cruz, while learning more about their threats, such as light pollution. At each stop on this peddy paper, we’ll uncover new information about each animal group.
- 23rd March
