Like the first BioBlitz in Madeira (BioBlitz Laurissilva@night), the BioBlitz Ponta de S. Lourenço@night recorded around 60 species and nearly 170 observations!
These observations were made by 41 participants who recorded their observations on the iNaturalist platform with the support of three biologists specialised in flora, bats and insects. The SPEA team supported participants with the identification of birds and other species.
The event took place on April 20, 2024, with the support of Machico Town Council, which provided transport for the participants to the Nature 200 protected area Ponta de São Lourenço.
