SPEA participated in the 4th Santa Cruz Environment Week, with events on March 26 and 28 focused on biodiversity conservation and environmental awareness.

On the morning of March 26, the SPEA team, in collaboration with the Sentido Galo Resort Hotel—a participant in the “Galardão Noite com Vida” initiative—and with the support of gardeners from the Municipality of Santa Cruz, carried out work at the Ponta da Oliveira Garden, where several species of plants native to the island were planted, contributing to the ecological enhancement of this area.

Activities continued on March 28, with SPEA participating in Earth Hour. The team set up a booth at the Casa da Cultura de Santa Cruz to raise awareness among the community about the importance of nature conservation and adopting more sustainable behaviors. Throughout the day, there were also activities and games for the whole family, as well as opportunities for birdwatching.

The day concluded with participation in the global symbolic gesture of Earth Hour, from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., during which the lights were turned off to raise awareness of the urgency of combating climate change.
