The Municipality of Câmara de Lobos has approved the Lighting Master Plan (PDIC).
This plan, created by the LIFE Natura@night consortium, coordinated by SPEA, includes reducing light pollution, creating a public lighting network registry, installing a remote-controlled lighting management system, and establishing technical standards for light points.
Additionally, the PDIC includes best practices to be implemented in areas sensitive to biodiversity.
This initiative, besides contributing to significant energy savings, will also reduce the direct impacts that light pollution has on the quality of life of the population.
Recently, the Municipality installed 66 new LED luminaires with controlled spectrum technology, which minimize blue light emissions and meet the objectives of efficient and sustainable lighting.
