The Festival of Birdwatching and Nature Activities – Sagres Birdwatching Festival – took place between October 3 and 6, 2024. Representing the SPEA Madeira team and the LIFE Natura@night consortium, the LIFE Natura@night project was presented through talks and games.
The game “A Troubled Night” took place on October 3 and 5, with 16 participants. In the lecture on October 4, 7 participants were shown the project’s videos, with the theme “Nocturnal biodiversity and light pollution”.
This great event welcomed 1238 participants from 29 nationalities, for a total of:
- 277 activities (187 free, 90 paid)
- 59 local partners
- 146 species of birds were recorded, the most interesting of which was the red-eared magpie (Charadrius morinellus), a rare migratory species.
