The Municipality of Santa Cruz da Graciosa participated in the Festival of Biosphere Reserves of Portugal in Graciosa Island, with various events and activities, however within the scope of the LIFE Natura@night project and in partnership with DRPM and SRAAC, the following environmental education activities took place:
-
LIFE Natura@night Project – Light Pollution
In the LIFE Natura@night Project Workshop, SPEA Açores, as well as the Municipal Council, wanted to make the LIFE Natura@night Project known to the chiefs and leaders of the different scout groups of the island, focusing on the seabird rescue actions.
In this way, these concepts can be reapplied to the younger sections of the scouts, as a way of encouraging the SOS Cagarro Brigades.
-
Light Pollution – Approach to the Concept
The lecture Luminous Pollution – Approach to the Concept focused on the theme of Luminous Pollution and the LIFE Natura@night project, where the target audience were the secondary school students of the Escola Básica e Secundária da Ilha Graciosa. As a form of evaluation of the activity, an online quiz was carried out, and the 12 best scores were rewarded with the offer of solar powerbanks.
The record of the activities remains!
