To celebrate National Fisherman’s Day on May 31, SPEA Açores promoted an activity on the theme “Not everything that glitters is tuna,” as part of the LIFE Natura@Night project.
The activity, which took place on the morning of June 3, was attended by 36 fishermen, 26 of whom represented various fishing vessels in a competition to see which ones were most aware of the impact of light pollution on nocturnal biodiversity.
The event was also supported by Lotaçor – Serviço de Lotas dos Açores, S.A. to celebrate fishermen and raise their awareness of a night with more life.
